Summary: During Obama's recent speech to Congress, Congressman Joe Wilson (Republican) shouted "You lie!" to the President. Representative Wilson was referring to Obama's statement that illegal immigrants are not covered by the current health care reform legislation. Afterwards, Wilson apologized publicly, unable to reach President Obama directly. Many congressmen, including those of the GOP, are angry with him for his outburst. Some are considering punishment for Wilson as a result.
Opinion: While I agree with Wilson, I do not think he should have yelled in the middle of the President's speech. However, many congressmen are calling for Wilson to apologize again, or face punishment in Congress. This I do not agree with; he has apologized already; the situation has been rectified. People need to move on. I believe that the health care bill will support illegal immigrants, though, and that the President did lie. Another interesting point is that when President Bush was booed during one of his speeches, there was neither none of the outcry pertaining to this situation, nor was there any apologizing to Bush.
