Title: “School’s hands-off approach the right choice” Source: OneNewsNow.com Author: Bill Bumpas Summary: A school from Indiana will no longer require student speeches to be screened by the school. Although a lawsuit forced them to abort a “school-sanctioned prayer” at graduation, the school responded by now allowing students to say whatever they wish in their speeches. Indiana Family Institute President Curt Smith “...believes the school’s hands-off approach is ‘absolutely’ the right choice.” Opinion: I am glad that the school is choosing not to censor student speeches – a restriction of first amendment rights. This will allow students to speak about their faith. The government (and thus the public school) cannot restrict a student’s free speech rights.
